Using IEEE Citation Generator
By accessing or using IEEE Citation Generator, you agree to these Terms of Service and to use the service in compliance with applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What IEEE Citation Generator Provides
The service may accept DOI, URL, ISBN, title, manual source details, and BibTeX inputs; query external metadata providers; generate IEEE-style previews; manage a browser-local reference list; and provide text, BibTeX, LaTeX, or Word exports. The current service is free to use and does not require an account.
Features may change, be limited, or be unavailable when an external provider, browser capability, network, or maintenance event prevents the service from working.
You Remain Responsible For Your Source Material
You are responsible for having the right to submit any information or file you enter or import. You retain your rights in your own input. IEEE Citation Generator does not claim ownership of your reference list or generated citation text.
You are responsible for checking author names, titles, editions, publication dates, page ranges, identifiers, URLs, and required style details before using an output in an academic, professional, or published work.
Automated Metadata Is Not A Guarantee
IEEE Citation Generator may display information returned by Crossref, Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, Open Library, or a public web page. Those sources can be incomplete, stale, or wrong. A reference can be formatted and still need review. IEEE Citation Generator is not responsible for errors in third-party metadata, unavailable pages, broken links, or a citation that does not meet a particular venue's requirements.
IEEE Citation Generator is an independent, unofficial citation formatting tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by IEEE.
Services May Evolve
The current service does not run Google Analytics or Google AdSense. IEEE Citation Generator may later add analytics, advertising, sponsorship, paid features, or accounts. If that happens, the Privacy Policy will describe the relevant providers, data practices, cookies or identifiers, and available consent or privacy choices where required. Ads and external services are supplied by third parties and are not endorsements by IEEE Citation Generator.
Keep The Service Safe
You may not use IEEE Citation Generator to submit credentials or sensitive information, probe or attack the service, bypass reasonable request limits, interfere with other users, upload unlawful or infringing material, or use automated traffic in a way that creates an undue burden. Do not use a generated citation as evidence that a source exists when you have not checked the source.
Use Your Judgment
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IEEE Citation Generator is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that every result will be accurate, complete, current, secure, or uninterrupted. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on an unreviewed citation, third-party metadata, an unavailable service, or a browser-local list that is deleted or lost.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms when the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top will show when the current version took effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
